Our Work in Middle East

The Middle East region pro-vides a unique and chall-enging backdrop for devel-opment assistance. Econ-omic stagnation, rapid pop-ulation growth, and deplet-ed natural resources are compounded by intense political attention, security concerns, and periodic regional conflict. The U.S. government and other donors are implementing programs that address job creation, water security, governance reform, instit-utional capacity building, and private sector development.

Our work in the region includes judicial reform, rule of law, trade, tourism, agriculture, microfinance, environmental manage-ment, women's rights, and financial services. A wide network of affiliates and subsidiaries and long-standing relationships with local firms mark our strong work in the region.
